The English Black and Tan Terrier is a now-extinct
terrier
dog breed. It is
believed to have existed in the British Isles through the 18th Century and may
have been more of a type than an actual breed. There were probably rough and
smooth-coated varieties. The Black and Tan Terrier is believed to be among the
progenitors of the
fox terriers.
